Digital Efficiency Initiative of the Year
GF Tomlinson and Payapps.com have been nominated together for the Digital Efficiency Initiative of the Year award at this year’s Building Awards. The Building Awards is a prestigious event, held annually at Grosvenor House in London, which celebrates and merits the best and most innovative companies in the UK construction industry.
GF Tomlinson, a large contractor based in Derbyshire, have been recognised for adopting Payapps.com across all future projects following a successful trial on two large projects. As stated in their case study video, which you can find here, their aim was to increase efficiency across their commercial and finance teams by streamlining the application for payment and certification process. By doing this they are promoting fair payment across their supply chain and helping both themselves and their subcontractors to comply with terms set by the UK Construction Act.
The official description for the award is:
“This category is open to any organisation that is driving greater business efficiency through the adoption of non BIM digital technologies. This award recognises there are many digital technologies that improve internal business processes whereas the adoption of BIM is primarily focused on improving the efficiency of the construction process. Initiatives can include software development, data management techniques, cloud based digital initiatives, tools that streamline reporting, health and safety monitoring, improving building user experience, procurement and new ways of working. The initiative must have commenced between March 2016 and April 2017.”
